62Band Hero Two Minute Video Game Review
There is no doubt that music has a large influence on us, and is a very powerful medium as it can communicate a message well because almost everybody can relate to it. Today, we see that music has infiltrated the world of video games, and everybody is soaking it up. If you happen to be a music enthusiast and had fun strumming your fingers through the Guitar Hero series, then you probably can’t wait to get your hands on Band Hero.
Band Hero is the newest expansion to the Guitar Hero series. Just like in all the other music video games, a player’s goal is to choose an instrument and hit as many notes as he can that rhythmically match the notes seen on the screen.
Available: Wii, DS, PS2, PS3, XBox 360
While Guitar Hero World Tour, the fourth in the series, has already expanded by adding other instruments such as a drum kit and a microphone for vocals, you will be glad to know that Band Hero also added in a brass guitar, so you can rock out your favorite songs like a full-on rock band. More band and song selections are also included, so players can have more options according to the difficulty they want to play, making the game a lot more fun.

Included in the selections are over 65 chart-toppings songs such as “Bring Me to Life” by Evanescence, “You Had Me” by Joss Stone, and “Hands Down” by Dashboard Confessional, among others. With songs and artists that are more popular, Activision, the developer of Band Hero, is hoping to attract a wider pool of players who are not of the rock-and-roll type, but still love music all the same.

Does Band Hero Look Like a Game You Will Enjoy?
See results without votingThat is why Band Hero has also teamed with popular artists like Taylor Swift, Adam Levine of Maroon 5, Nelly Furtado, N.E.R.D. and the band No Doubt to pose as in-game avatars.
For more diversity, however, the game features a tool called “Rock Star Creator,” where you can choose how you want your avatar to look, from the hair down to the shoes.

If rocking as a single player bores you, Band Hero has put in additional modes for players to choose from, making the game big enough for a multiplayer option. In Do or Die, players will force you to kind of lose one turn if you miss three notes in a row, temporarily benching you while your opponents are racking up points.
In Elimination, the player with the lowest score at the end of each song segment will be taken out of the game until one emerges the winner.
In Perfectionist, points are given to the player who completes the song perfectly and without misses – hence its title. While in Momentum, the level of difficulty increases as you progress. These modes are great not just for a group of friends who want to have fun and hang out, but also for families looking for a perfect activity that also gives the opportunity to share quality time without having to leave the home.

If you crave the fun times of rhythm gameplay and rocking out to some of your favorite songs and artists, Band Hero will make an awesome addition to your collection.
