Marvel Super Hero Squad - Review - Will You Fight for Good, Evil or Just for Fun?

Marvel Super Hero Squad is based on various characters of the Marvel universe, Super Hero Squad allows you to save all the denizens of the game's world called Super City. You can try all kinds of combination of both villains and heroes allowing you to set up many different dream fights between characters from the Avengers, X-Men, and Fantastic 4, and many others from the Marvel Universe. You can do various fights such as going up against Dr. Doom as well as the Lethal Legion.

You can be the triumph hero that saves the town as all the known characters such Iron Man, Wolverine, Thor, Falcon, and even the Silver Surfer in the games Adventure Mode. Using the games Battle Mode, you can play as good or evil with up to 20 different characters. You can put your character's various super human abilities to work through various custom combos. These come quite in handy in the many types of show downs you can set up.

Perhaps maybe you haven't heard of the ruckus surrounding this new game. Marvel Super Hero Squad actually was originally a toy line of small or overly large marvel heroes that were turned into their cartoon equivalent. THQ is going to continue the franchise over the following years through video game releases.

The Wii game version can be picked up and played easily by all ages. But this game is targeting the youngest of audiences. Bad guys like Magneto and heroes like Thor will be playable allowing the youngsters to go through a colorful world of breakable objects the kids will love.

Using the voices directly from the shows, there will be over twenty characters in this game allowing the whole household to join in on some multiplayer action. So what does end up entailing? The incredibly simple controls which allow you to chain up to three different moves that can make as many as 6 combos in the end. The action is crazy and zany with its cartoon like animations. The wii-mote and nunchuk will get quite the work out.

There are two different game modes, battle and adventure which will both give you plenty of fun. The time I was able to play with the game was through the battle mode which was much was much like a "fight till no one is left" type of situation. As Wolverine I fought against three other characters from the marvel universe, Iron Man, Dr. Doom, and the Incredible hulk. As soon as the match began, we were all pounding each other senseless.

You are on a circular platform in which you are suppose to knock them off of to defeat them. The more you lower their health, the easier they are to knock off. When someone did fall off the platform, they would lose a life. Who ever had the most lives left by the end of the match wins.

Would you like to take a guess as to who kicked their butts? Of course the Hulk boasted his trademark clap and shockwave attacks which he is known for. Iron man could fire blasts from his chest pieces. Wolverines healing powers were a no show. Most of the characters in Super Hero Squad just have a few signature attacks as well as their customs to flesh out their personality. Most of the time you can just move around the wii-mote while mashing the B button. Due to the family targeted nature of the game, that is really all it takes.

It was very much like Lego-stars when you enter the adventure mode. You take your pick of two characters. You can swap between them at will and they jump in and out at he players discretion. You have unlimited lives, and plenty of breakables to trash, and tons of enemies to bash.

In my test play, the Hulk and Wolverine were going into one of Dr. Doom's hideouts. There was plenty to break on all sides while bashing on various colorful foes. Using his claws, wolverine was able to puncture barrels then fling them at various enemies and even cut down available light poles. But of course it could never cut into enemies. There are many various collectible gems for the heroes to gather as they continued their smash and bash.

If you crave an entertaining, fun, action filled game,Marvel Super Hero Squad will make a wonderful addition to your collection.
